The painting “Stalker“

is dedicated to the masterpiece of the same name by Andrei Tarkovsky “Stalker“, and is a deep philosophical still life with elements of a landscape.
The composition is built as a dialogue between the inner world of a person and the mysterious Zone.

• Plot: In the foreground are recognizable attributes of the film: an old kerosene lamp, a stack of books and a calendar sheet with the number “28”, which refers to the final scene of the painting.
• Symbolism: Outside the window, a view opens of the ghostly landscape of the Zone, drowning in fog, where among the wildflowers the silhouette of a black dog – the faithful companion and guide of the heroes – has frozen.
• Style: The masterful use of chiaroscuro and a muted palette create the same “Tarkovsky” atmosphere of contemplation, melancholy and expectation of a miracle.
